Leadership in Energy

LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is the first measurable step in North America to create sustainable buildings. DIRTT is a promoter of LEED and has several employees who are LEED Accredited. DIRTT is proud to be a part of the admirable and early efforts of the U.S. Green Building Council; www.usgbc.org to assist in creating better and more sustainable buildings.

LEED is only the beginning. Once freed from the constraints of the industry and trade lobbying, LEED will be able to move beyond material choices and make leaps forward in ensuring all parts of a building reduce footprint, include reusable elements and turn to recycling as last resort. A building can still be sustainable without being LEED certified. DIRTT’s Agile Architectural Solutions are open to many LEED CI points:

• Energy and Atmosphere
• Materials and Resources
• Indoor environmental quality
• Innovation of design

No company can promise LEED points on any project. They can only provide guidance with regards to the energy savings and/or rapidly renewable and recycled content of their products.

Like all companies involved in a LEED project-timing is of the essence. The sooner we are involved in a building, the more our products can impact environmentally sustainable solutions.
